So if I can ask for a bashing from u guys, I can ask for a pat on the back too na 🙂 🙂

Yeah its been 10 days and I have lost all the weight that I gained plus some more… yippe… i have really hard on it on the past 10 days…

workouts have been going on full swing and I am back to the sensibly dieting ways and the results are showing…

The numbers

Intial Weight : 94.3kg

Last update weight : 85.8 kg

Current weight : 84.0 kg

though I am happy that I shed a lot of weight during that the last ten days but actually my weight has been hovering around 84 for a very long time now… a little a little down and I want to break this now…

Some timeback I read about couch to 5K running plan at Broom’s blog, mighty excited about I signed up along with some bloggers for it and  started it too before xmas, completed week 1 but then came that stupid phase where I didnt do anything at all and forgot all about it…. but from today I am going to get back to it… broom u better watch out 😉

Resolutions 2010

2010, finances, loan, NaBloPoMo, new year, resolutions, weight

I really don’t make resolutions… gave up on them ages ago when I realized that I all do is make them and break them in 24 hrs 🙂  but this time something inside me is telling no make them and challenge yourself to complete them too….

so here they are :

  • So I have lost 10 kgs but there is 15 more to go and that is the target this year… the next year eve I surely want to be in the weight I have been dreaming of God knows how long now… 69.9 kgs, when I reach that I would still be about 4 kgs overweight but I think I would settle for 15 this year and see what I want in the next year resolution
  • Read more – I read a mere 20 books this year and I dont like that… I want to read more and more and more so I am giving myself a target of 35 this year, a very achievable target if I want to
  • Start something of my own or get back to job : I have given myself quite sometime with the break and now I need to put my heart and soul into doing something constructive… Though I would really love to start something on my own the big problem is finances… anything I try to think of there is atleast an investment of about 10lacs and I dont have that kind of money but whatever it is I need to start doing something now……
  • The biggest goal we have set our self as a couple is to manage finances well… We were happily spending when we both were working…liked something buy it was the funda of life and if u dont have the cash… big deal swipe the card and convert to EMI’s till I lost my job and we realized… shit we are neck deep in EMI’s, so there is only one target this year close as many as loans as possible… we have already closed couple of them in the last year and by the end of this year we want to be left with only the home loan which we are giving ourselves 5 yrs to close
  • Learn to deal more patiently with Ojas… he has entered the trouble two’s a bang… they have arrived and he drives me crazy… I was very patient with him always but the last month or so,I have seen losing my temper more than I should have, though he hasn’t really (as of yet) got a slap from me but I dont like the way I am shouting these days… I need to be more patient with him…
  • Get my messy house in order no I mean seriously I think I have made Ojas a good excuse to get away with the messiness… Its NOT DIRTY but its messy all the time and I want to change it this year… I want to have in order house this year…

So what are your resolutions and whats your track record on them? dump them or fulfill them?

A lot has been going on in life but the will to blog seems to be missing offlate.. I think I have hit the biggest writer naah I am no writer the biggest blogger’s block.

I just dont feel like writing anything infact I dont even feel like reading the blogs, havent opened my reader in daaaays… So till the urge to say comes back strongly I am going to sit back and hope it returns soon… may be this post is the starting for that

weight loss effort are going nowhere at all… Its been 2 weeks I am back from vacation home and I have been doing nothing at all… no workouts… no diets… gosh how difficult it is to leave the inertia and come back to it… I have put a kg but I am sure that is not a big deal if I get back to it but I am not doing anything about it… High I do something… I just keep postponing it… from tmrw ok day after.. after this event or the other 😦 But I think its high time I am going to get back to it from tmrw for sure 🙂

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary yesterday and went to the Zuri for dinner… and the food there was awesome, the service great but I think the decor could have been a tad better…Now that we are talking of 5-stars we went to Vivanta by Taj some days back for a quick late night meal and what a pleasure that was… ofcourse it was expensive as it is expected to be… but the food..the ambiance.. the service.. brilliant… N ordered a prawn biryani and it was the yummiest I have ever had….

So whats been happening in your life? Will be back soon hopefully with a real post 🙂

weight, Weight loss update

I am elated its been a month I started this serisouly and I have acheived the target that I had set for myself actually a little more…

Initial weight – 94.3 kg

Last Week Weight – 90.3 kg

Current Weight – 89.2 kg

This week drop -1.1 kg

Total drop – 5.1 kg

Yay I am happy with myself.

So the diet for next week is

Day1, Day2 – normal balanced diet

Day 3 – deviation (why, I have been shouting about this all over… changed the header for the same too, yes yes its my birthday :):) )

Day 4 – Paneer Diet

Day 5, 6, 7 – original negative balance diet

This deserves a celebration right so I went and treated myself with one of the truffles that I had made sometime back (yes I  had saved one for this day :):) ) now this is valid isnt it ?

I hope I dont put on too much weight on my birthday because I dont plann to any sensible eating that day after all birthdays come once a year or should I?

So here is my Friday update on the weight,

Weight when I started last week : 94.3 kg

Weight Today : 92.1

Total loss last week : 2.2 kgs

YAY!!! me is really happy… this is the first time I have ever lost such kind of weight, sometime back when I had done the detox (mainly liquids only) given by my yoga instructor also had seen only a drop of 1.5kgs in one week… I guess its the combination of excersice and diet which worked this time. Also defiently been off the medicines.

My diet counselor (DC) was also pretty happy with the results and said that this is the first indication that the body is responding and its good, however she has warned me not to expect this every week 😀 from here now an approximate weight loss of 750gms/week will be the target… lets see where it goes

This is my diet for the next week

Day 1 (NonVeg Phase I diet)

BF- 2-4 egg white omellette + 1-2 slices of bread

MM- fruit

Lunch – 2-3 roti + 3-4 fish fillets/2 pieces of chicken + subzi + salad

Evening – Tea/Coffee + marie

Dinner – 1-2 roti + subzi + salad

Day 2 (Oat bran -ve balance diet, basically last week’s diet) + 1/2 katooru curd + 1/2 katoori dal in the afternoon… I have even got permission to go and eat everything little little in the wonder boy Akki’s birthday party on sunday

Day 3 (Moong Dal Phase I diet)

Bf – Moong dal chilla – 3 + green chutney

MM – Moong dal sprouts

Lunch – 2-3 roti + 1 katooru moong dal + subzi + salad

Tea /coffee

Dinner – 1-2 roti + subz + salad

Day 4 (-ve balance diet)

Day 5 (Moong dal phase 1 diet)

Day 6 (Paneer Diet)

make paneer at home from defatted milk

BF – Paneer Stuffed Parantha (can use upto 10gm paneer)

MM- fruit

Lunch – 2 roti + Paneer (15-20gm) sabzi + one more sabzi + salad

After lunch (1.5 hrs ) – fruit

Dinner 1-2 roti + sabzi + salad

Day 7 (-ve balance diet)

Also some of u had asked me whats my workout schedule, so here is it.

Warm up 10 mins on treadmill

two sets of basic stretches

20 mins of the cross trainer

20 mins of cycling

some abs/crunches

carpal tunnel syndrome, diet, fibroid, gallstones, gym, health, preganancy, rheumatiod, weight, Weight loss, Weight loss update

Note : This post has been in my draft for 3 days now and after a lot of courage I am publishing it now… guys be nice to me

I have been battling with my weight for quite sometime now and most of the regular readers know that, now how serious I have been can be questioned I agree… but I have been trying and I can say that we honesty to myself and I think that is all that matters…

For the last one year or so I have been trying to do gymming, brisk walking, GM Diet, 7-day all liquid detox diet and what not… I had joined Fitness one Trim program only to loose 5kgs in 3 months 😦

Now let me get into a little history here, its not that I dont loose weight at all… the problem is gain what I have lost right back.. my gym instrustor calls it a yo-yo effect… I will loose one week and gain the next

But most of all the problem with me is my medical history… which is no less longer than ramayana I think…. In Jan2005 I was detected with Uterine Fibroids after endless cycles of bad menstural cramps and monsetours flow… and hence I underwent a  Myomectomy after 3 strong shots of GnRH

About a year and a half later in a routine yearly health checkup I was detected septate uterus and once again underwent a laproscopic surgery for its removal

Then God smiled on me and I conceived but I had a very difficult pregnancy during which I had to  take harmonal injections and supplements for about 4.5 months and also 3 shots of steroids as the doctors were half expecting a premie… When I delivered I breathed a sigh of relief thinking that now the good times start but alas God had different plans for me…

During pregnancyI had a wrist pain known as the carpal tunnel syndrome which is very common in pregnancy and for the unfortunate 5% continues post delivery too… needless to say the pain continued for me… and after a battery of tests I was comfirmed as a likely case of what my doctor called as a typical case of post partum Rheumatoid… and hence subjected to a series of steriods

As if that was not enough I was detected as having gall bladder stones too…

Ok enough of sadness and frustation in the post, good news is this that the earlier all problems have obs gone and for the last two I have switched to homeopathy and that means the end of the dreaded steriods and now when that happened I thought of getting at the task of loosing weight with all my energies…

So on the suggestion of my gym instructor a some friends I met a dietcain yesterday, Anju Sood is someone who stays very close by and is PhD in Nutrition… And I think I liked her from the word go… she had asked me to bring the medical history and she seem to understand everything there, she discussed everything with me after taking my weight, height etc…

Now I have never been comfortable putting the nos and all in open but I think I need to do this now and Priyanka and Muchkin’s mom have given me courage too… so here it goes

Height – 161 cm

Weight – 94.3 kgs

BMI – 36.4

Now the ideal weight for anyone my age and height is about 60 kgs…but after a lot of discussion and delebration with the dietician and the gym instructor we have all agreed that currently we would target for somewhere around 75kgs-80kgs and then give the body time to adjust to the new weight so that it doesnt revolt… then after being in that weight for about 4 months or so and will start the further reduction and will see how it goes…

Also both of them seem to agree that the medicines might take some time to flush out of the system and hence after the one month we will take stock of the situation and if there is very little weightloss it might just be that I would not be ready for the weightloss right now in which case we would postpone this whole excersie for 3 months and till such time I would be continuiting my brisk walks and maintaince diets…

So guys wish me luck, this month is crucial for me… I want to be fit again… I am fed up carrying so much excess weight around… I am fed up of the vicous circle that it has become now… not healthy because of wieght and not able to lose weight because of health…. will do weekly updates on this.

And here is the diet details for those who are intersted,She takes a lot of things in consideration while making the diet urlifestyle, eating habits, blood group and family medical history…

General Instructions:

  • Morning on getting up : 1-2 glasses of lukewarm water + 1/2 lemon + 2 drops of honey
  • Drink about 3 ltrs of water a day
  • eat 3-4 fruits a day (not all permitted 🙂 )
  • Can eat 8-9 Marie biscuits in a day
  • For making rotis atta should always be made with 50% whole wheat + 50% oat bran
  • No sugar – can use 5-6 tablets of sugar free natura if I want
  • Dinner – to be finished by 7:30-8:00 pm
  • light stroll for 15 mins immediately after dinner
  • exercise as per the workout plan atleast 5 days a week on days that u cant do brisk walking for 30 mins

For the first 8-days she has put me on Oat Bran negative balance diet

  • bed tea + 2 marie
  • Breakfast  – 2 stuffed paranthas/big bowl of namkeen dalia/sandwisch with 3-4 slices of bread
  • Mid morning 1.5 hrs – 2 hrs after breakfast – fruit
  • Lunch – 3-4 rotis + subzi + salad
  • Evening tea – tea/coffee/fresh lime/tender cocunut water + Marie
  • Dinner – 2 roti + subzi + salad

And anytime I am hungry inbetween I can eat my quota of fruit and marie biscuit.. I cant take dairy products or pulses for 8 days after which the diet will be revised..

Keeping my fingers crossed lets see how it goes… the first target is 3-4 kgs in one month

fitness fervor, personal, weight

The last two weeks have been maddening in the world that I live in… not just work is at is busiest in a long time I can remember but the boss is at his nastiest best too… sigh the ways of life, its just crazy right now… I had couple of showdowns with him in the last 10 days…

And apart from work I have finally been working full swing on my Project WR, I started with a 2-week crash course in Yoga, was thinking may be will continue with him post that but didnt like the instructor he was too stuck in female/male differences for me to approve of… but I am glad that I have learnt the basic yoga asaana and now pratice them at home every alternate day in the evening and that is plus the gym I am trying to do 5-days a week…

I also did a detox diet with the Yoga instrcutor for 5-days… it was actually supposed to be a 7-day only liquid diet… as in have only fruit juices and soups… but it gave me a severe acidity problem on day 3 and hence it was changed to eating fruits for the next 2 days… it was tough but the end of it I felt good and I am down 2.5 kgs on the scales and that feels very very good

But as usual my problem is started with a bang and then leaving the enthu,l I have been wondering what to do about it… and one of the reason to put my detox diet everywhere… FB, tweet, gtalk was to put pressure on my self and our brilliant roop I think realised this and created a brilliant forum Fitness Fervor for people who want to be fit…. loose weight and gain strength and I have joined it hoping that it will bring in some determination in me and also being little scared of public humilation I might just stick to the routine this time 🙂

here is where u can see all the members… Guys wish me luck this time

In this hectic schedule we also somehow managed to do a picnic with friends in the long weekend that just went by and what fun it was… we met at a friends place, had self cooked chineese food, took all the kids to the pool and then post lunch headed towards a friends farmhouse on Sarjapur road actually after the sarjapur village… The friend is a passionate biker and has dirt bike and has built a track there for dirt biking with all the humps etc in place… so needless to say the men started biking… N just loved it and was on it for a very long time… he even did wheeling that which he claims to be his childhood dream 😉

Post that we planted some trees…

and then lit up the bornfire and setup a barbeque and eat the yummy stuff that we had marinated and took… we all had a ball of a time and spend the earth hour chating up around the bonfire and sipping beer

how are things at your end guys? work has been so busy that my reader shows me 1000+ unread items and I am just not getting the time to read them… will do that soon hopefully

Oh what a delight it is… to bunk office and catch up with a friend who u are meeting after 10 yrs for lunch…

and how good it feels when u meet and are just back to old stuff in a jiffy… cracking the same old jokes and understanding each other the same…

Nothing beats this feeling specially when it happens on a Friday afternoon :):)

This morning a old friend on mine called and we decided to meet for lunch, I worked from home in the morning half and went to Cafe Masala in Eva Mall for lunch… We giggled, recalled the old times, hogged food and when it was 2 hrs and it was time to go back to work reluctantly walked off the place…

And then while walking down spotted a Sale sign at Revolution we looked at each other and we knew what both are thinking… somethings never change… What we did post that is anyone’s guess…

And the shopping resulted in a delight too, I have gone down a size and in some styles even two size and finally become a size 0 (he he what if its in a plus size brand, size 0 is a size 0 right and guys dont dare say no) time to celebrate…

And now that I am on it let me give u guys an update on Project WR, I have finally been able to loose around 5kgs in 5 months… pathetic isnt it? actually my gym memebership got over around 1.5 months and i never got around renewing it as the work is very hectic and these days at home besides managing Ojas I am cooking in the evenings too… What I am trying is to do is take walks everyday and some diet control and atleast I havent put on what I lost in the gym… need to be more focused in this area… but today is the time to celebrate

And when talking of celebration guys… this valentine make it a point to celebrate in style… tell the moral policing guys we will not take it anymore

there is an excellent initiative Stand up against Moral Plociing taken by portmanteau… lets all participate and spread the word…

People in Bangalore on Sunday there is a protest march happening against the Managlore attack do participate if u can…

Its time we raise our voices and tell them this will not be taken anymore…

Phew this is post has totally changed its form multiple times since the start 🙂 I hope u dont find it too confusing
