The weight loss trail that is, the last update I did on the blog was really really really long ago and I havent been able to do much on it since than apart from adding on some weight on self 😦 I have been doing yoga for the last 2 months and it hasn’t helped me reduced any weight though I agree that its not up since than but I have a lot to lose so I decided last week that drastic times need drastic measures and just when I was thinking of going back on the diet that my nutritionist had suggested me last time I lost 11kgs (out of which 4 is back 😦 ) a friend A suggested that he has been following a diet from the book called “The 4 hour body” , the way he spoke about it passionately the book was ordered the same night from Flipkart and read with much gusto… loved the book and craziness in Timothy enough to try it… Its basically a slow carb diet where we eat as much protein and stay away from direct carbs… and there is a cheat day every week 🙂

So starting today morning I have started the diet and I am totally excited abt it… will keep u guys posted as usual, wish me luck please

U can’t attempt to lose weight… sigh

The last weight/fitness update I did was eons ago… yes please go ahead and scold me I need it….

Let me make a confession here its been 3 months I have gone to the gym…gone to means been regular… the reason is not just laziness thankfully…. I got a terrible neck pain in Feb and since than I havent been able to do any gym… everyday I go to the gym the neck pain comes back with a vengeance… 😦 😦 I have shown multiple doctors and consulted a personal trainer too… practically my only option seems to be either walking or swimming…

And I can’t tell you how sad I am right now that I don’t know how to swim… I have resolved to find a way around this and get myself into coaching once Ojas settles down into school…

I am continuing my walks (they are not very brisk though) and was able to keep up my weight till the last update I did and that was before I started my baking course…

And in comes the baking course and everything is washed down the drain…. Seriously…. I am so damn angry with myself, I have put 1.5 kgs in the last 6 weeks… A very disappointing figure… The thing is when you make around 4-5 dishes in a day, even tasting everyone of them everyday does a great harm to one…

Could I have done without  tasting? May be? But frankly personally I think you can’t help but taste… mainly for two reasons

1. u have worked hard on it… since morning 10 to evening 4

2. u learning them and you need to know what is the correct taste like

May be my reasons above are wrong, may be they are not… but the nutshell is that I have put on some weight 😦 And I need to lose it again…

So now that the course is over I begin my weight loss regime all over again….

Brisk walks everyday and strict diet control are going to be the only things I will be able to do right now… hope I am able to change these depressing figures very soon…Wish me luck and yeah scold me if you want

Current weight : 83.2 kg

Ok so the weight is going down 🙂 but I am happy for much more… why u ask? Sometime back I was browsing the good old FF for some motivation (God why did it die a premature death?) and I read this post by Sunita talking about the non scale victories and how we never celebrate them as much as we should… and I so agree with that, we get so hung up with the scales moving up and down that we absolutely forget that what matters more than that is the NSV’s… the inch loss, the fall in the body fat, the increase in the stamin, improve in health etc…

so today I am going to celebrate the NSV’s 🙂

The thing that makes me most happy is the inch loss ofcourse, because that is what makes everyone sit up and notice that yeah u have lost way and compliments are a great way of encouragement which keep u going…

I have lost about 5 inches at my stomach… I think there is another 5-6 to go before I get a flat stomach, my dream since ages…

I lost about 3.5 inches at the chest and all my blouses that I got stiched a year or so back have become so funny and when I went to get them altered the tailor said that it would probably be easier to stich new 😉

I lost about 4 inches at the waist YAY

About 3 inches at the arms, about 4 inches at the thigh and about 1.5 at the calves…

I have almost gone down two sizes and don’t need a plus size anymore 😀 😀 😀 a xl (and in some even large) fits me just fine….

My BMI is gone down by about 3%

I just finished day 3, week 3 of C2K… and though I was tired I was able to do it!!! and I cant tell you how happy I am… when I started working out I couldnt walk on the treadmill without huffing and puffing for 20 mins and now I am almost running for 20 mins and thats huge for me…

I remember about 8 months I wasn’t really able to climb the two flight of stairs from my ground floor to terrace without huff puff but the other day I went to a friends house on 5th floor and walked up almost comfortably….

I also did a Basic Art of Living course the last weekend and could almost do all the aasana’s they taught and I have started practicing yoga and Sudarshan Kriya at home which will also build my inner strength more…

I hope I am able to celebrate many more non scale victories ahead too 😀

So if I can ask for a bashing from u guys, I can ask for a pat on the back too na 🙂 🙂

Yeah its been 10 days and I have lost all the weight that I gained plus some more… yippe… i have really hard on it on the past 10 days…

workouts have been going on full swing and I am back to the sensibly dieting ways and the results are showing…

The numbers

Intial Weight : 94.3kg

Last update weight : 85.8 kg

Current weight : 84.0 kg

though I am happy that I shed a lot of weight during that the last ten days but actually my weight has been hovering around 84 for a very long time now… a little a little down and I want to break this now…

Some timeback I read about couch to 5K running plan at Broom’s blog, mighty excited about I signed up along with some bloggers for it and  started it too before xmas, completed week 1 but then came that stupid phase where I didnt do anything at all and forgot all about it…. but from today I am going to get back to it… broom u better watch out 😉

I suck I suck I suck… its been 10 days I have gone to the gym and have been hogging like a pig… and I have no reason to give… I am up by 1.2 kgs 😦 😦 😦

Weight Update

Pratically the last weight loss update I did was on Oct 13 and is Dec 11 today… sigh thats almost 2 months 😦

I feel ashamed of myself  but its so damn difficult to get into the groove after you come back from a vacation that too a long one…. Every day I would think that I will start today and everyday something or the other will hold me down… basically its nothing but the will and the damn laziness but last week I decided that enough is enough and started back…

I feel so good to have got back in the routine that I cant tell u, I think there is a great amount of satisfaction u get when you do what u want to do and when u see results even better… hope to stick to the routine now

and as for the numbers 🙂 here they are

Initial Weight : 94.3 kgs

weight before the break : 84.2 kgs

weight after the break : 85.8 kgs :(all this is due to mom’s food I tell ya

Current weight : 84.6 kgs

The good thing about this is that I put only around 1.5 kgs after doing no workout at all and binging on the food like crazy for about 7 weeks or so and out of which I was able to shed almost all in a week… So in the long run I dont think I will put back all the weight I lost immediately after I stop like people are scaring me

A lot has been going on in life but the will to blog seems to be missing offlate.. I think I have hit the biggest writer naah I am no writer the biggest blogger’s block.

I just dont feel like writing anything infact I dont even feel like reading the blogs, havent opened my reader in daaaays… So till the urge to say comes back strongly I am going to sit back and hope it returns soon… may be this post is the starting for that

weight loss effort are going nowhere at all… Its been 2 weeks I am back from vacation home and I have been doing nothing at all… no workouts… no diets… gosh how difficult it is to leave the inertia and come back to it… I have put a kg but I am sure that is not a big deal if I get back to it but I am not doing anything about it… High I do something… I just keep postponing it… from tmrw ok day after.. after this event or the other 😦 But I think its high time I am going to get back to it from tmrw for sure 🙂

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary yesterday and went to the Zuri for dinner… and the food there was awesome, the service great but I think the decor could have been a tad better…Now that we are talking of 5-stars we went to Vivanta by Taj some days back for a quick late night meal and what a pleasure that was… ofcourse it was expensive as it is expected to be… but the food..the ambiance.. the service.. brilliant… N ordered a prawn biryani and it was the yummiest I have ever had….

So whats been happening in your life? Will be back soon hopefully with a real post 🙂

Yaay its time to celebrate…. if u are thinking its about diwali… no no no no…. this is about the weight loss…

And here is the update

Initial Weight : 94.3 kgs

Last update weight : 86.00 kgs

Current Weight : 84.2 Kgs

and that means the total weight loss is 10.1 kgs!!!!! I cant even explain the joy I am feeling now… When I started the journey about 3 months with my diet consellour I had no hopes, my confidence was down the dumps and had totally given up on it… but she showed me a new hope… motivated me to get on it… stick to the diet and to the workout plan and yet not give up on life… I have had enough deviations and enjoyment in this three months… multiple vacations and some days when I have even thulped but we have managed it later…

I also went through a plateau in between and how we worked through it was so interesting, she actually put me on rice diet for 3 days and I reduced my workout and the scales started dropping again. I think this is where professional helps matters, I would have probably never thought of doing it myself ever…

And now I am waiting for the next milestone… when I hit the 70’s even if it is 79.9 🙂 and that is when I will get myself a tattoo too 😀

Update Week 10

I actually have no update at all this week…. my weight still stands at 86.0 kgs which was the same 2 weeks back… I really dont know why… I am doing my XBX and cardio religiously , my diet is on track… well almost but I have done deviations before and much more than I have done this time..

The only reason that could be behind is that my periods are delayed by 10 days (NO I AM NOT PREGNANT 🙂 ) … My DC says there is nothing to worry and I have done some changes to the diet so lets see what happens…

Hoping for a better update next time

At the same time I am wondering what kind of morons and sadistic world we live in… I have been getting a lot of trolls on my weight loss update… seriously demotivating trolls….

I have been following your weight loss for sometime now but never wanted to comment since i did not want to upset you. I have over 20 years of experience treating over weight patients and i specifically specialize in dieting using ayurvedic methods. I am also a senior instructor on aerobics and fitness training.. I can tell you from my experience you are fighting a loosing battle. See, you body structure is heridetary, ie.. it is not your fault so stop fighting it..accept the reality and move forward with life. The harder you try , the bulkier you are going to get once the diet process stops and it will soon because you body will stop reacting to these rapid changes.. my advice is just sit back , relax and let nature takes it course.. you will soon realize BIG is beautiful

you need my honest opinion i would say you are wasting your time because once you stop you are going to gain double the weight you lost within half of the time it took for you to shed. This process is faster among
Sindhi’s, thank god you are not a sindhi..so you have nothing to worry.

GOSH……….. should I really thank god I am not a sindhi and how the F@#$ is he sure I am not one??????????

Update Week 8

Initial Weight : 94.3 kgs

Last Update Weight : 87.45 kgs

This Update Weight : 86.00 kgs

2 weeks weightloss : 1.4 kgs

Total Weightloss : 8.3 kgs

Now though 8.3 kgs in 8 weeks is not really bad, its actually good… who am I am kidding I am flying in air right now… 🙂 I am happy that I have still managed to lose this weight in the last 2 weeks though if u see for only two weeks probably its not exceptionally well but its not bad either… Considering all I have been doing in the last two weeks is holiday. The trip to the village, a wedding, a friends birthday to attend, a picnic  with cousins… But for the first time in my life I have been eating sensibly when I am going out, eat as much as salad as I can, cut down on fast carbs like rice and maida etc, avoid desserts as much as possible, I think that is what has helped.

The thing  that I am most happy about is that I have dropped a size and about 3 inches from the waist… Time to dance Yippy!!! and I feel so much more fitter, the regular every 3 days falling sick has surely gone down… TOUCHWOOD… Plus people have started noticing and commenting on it… The first time u get that comment from some one its heavenly… U feel as if all your hardwork is paying

So in the last update I had asked you guys what to do because of the Gym problem… so this is what I am doing these days :

For Cardio

30-45 min walk and 30 mins of cardio in the gym on alternate days

And then I have started XBX since 3 days and so far its been good…hoping it works out for me

1 day of the week I also do some weights in the gym

And what do I eat

Morning – Lukewarm water + drop of honey  + 1/2 lemon – currently I have one glass trying to make it two

Breakfast – 4 slice bread sandwich / 3 moong dal chilas / 2- 3 egg white omelet + 1 bread slice / 1 Big Bowl porridge (daliya) + tea either before breakfast or along with it (oh yes I eat a lot in the breakfast but I think this is the most important meal of the day and how much ever I try I dont think I can explain its importance… all my life I have ignored this meal of the day and now I repent so trying to correct that )

Mid Meal – usually fruit sometimes a small bowl of sprouts

Lunch – 2 rotis + sabzi + curd (sometimes dal sometimes not) + salad / 2 moong dal chillas + salad + sabzi / 2-3 pieces of chicken/fish + salad + sabzi / big bowl of Cracked wheat khichdi + bowl of curd

Evening tea – a cup of tea + marie biscuits

Evening around 6 – fruit again

Dinner around 7:30 pm – 2 rotis + sabzi + salad / 2 pieces of chicken/fish + salad

and if the dinner gets late due to anything beyond 8 pm I skip the rotis and add a fruit instead.

I also have a cup of hot green tea after every meal and anytime if I feel hungry inbetween the meals I have a fruit or marie biscuits… I make sure I dont keep myself hungry for more than half an hour because if you do that what u eat directly converts into fat instead of getting absorbed by the body.

Its been 8 weeks and this is going good and I am so glad I went to my DC…. and I really thank the friend who recommend her…Gosh I hope this just keeps going…

PS: and So the verdict is out… I am making Ojas blog a restricted access blog… so go give me a roll-call of wants to be a reader there 😉 and swaram yes u will have to offer me a bribe

PPS: Anyone know how can I allow non-WP users to access a restricted blog in WP?
