Isn’t that a very catchy number, a number one would like to dance on… and keep on dancing I have been wanting to see this movie since it released and Ritu posted about it but my husband was not interested in watching it so I was wondering to when Wednesday a friend called me in the morning saying would I like to come along with her to watch the movie and I was jumping with joy yes yes yes ofcourse
And what a lovely movie. It was fun, good timepass and well executed but I think what I loved about the movie most was it made me warm inside for Delhi. It made me miss Delhi even more. The movie is soaked in Delhi right from the first scence where they show the metro, the delhi university, the cycle rickshaws, the banta, the bark ka golla…. damn I miss it…
The movie has captured Delhi so well that I don’t think any other movie did atleast the part of Delhi it wanted to capture… the fun loving loud Delhi…. the weddings… sigh I agreee its a waste of money but I can guarantee you there can’t be a wedding which is more fun than the wedding in Delhi…
And this movie made me miss Delhi to an extent that I was found crying on the things that the whole theatre was laughing at Damn I cant’t wait for Feb when I am off to Delhi for a cousin’s wedding no less where we will dancing a lot…. and I am sure Avin Avin will be played a lot
The book has everything that I could fall in love with:…. its about food, its about cooking, its about blogging, its about a female who is lost and trying to sort her life… When I read the summary the inside of me was shouting “ITS ME ITS ME” 😀
Honestly I came to know about the movie first and wanted to see it immediately but than I realised thats its based on a book and as rule I try and read the book first and than see the movie because almost always the book is better
So I started looking for the book frantically and when I found it, I fell in love with it… the book wanted me to go cook everytime I read it… it had me craving for food… I could totally relate to both the women in the book… Julia who has nothing to do and finds solace in cooking and realises she is really good at it and Julie who has a boring routine but good job, she has a good husband everything that one ask for but still finds something missing and fills that void by taking up a cooking challenge and blogging about it 😉 The book had me craving for the French Cooking by Julia child book though I know that probably wont ever cook from me
And then I saw the movie and I was blown away…. this must be one of those rare books which movie is better… Meryl Steep rocked and I dont think anyone could have done better… she rocks the role and I loved every bit of it, even Amy Adams was perfect for the role.
The movie was so well edited, picking up the most important and lovely pieces of the book and putting them together to form a movie…
What a Sunday I had yesterday… A day which starts with a yummilicous breakfast of palak-methi poori’s with aalo sabzi, pindi chole, raita and kheer can hardly go wrong… can it 😉 and anyone who dare reminds me of my dieting and weightloss plan here can be shot dead… so beware
Are u guys jealous enough or should I tell u what I did post that too 😀 😀 😀 I am all too excited because we took for his first ever go karting and man he enjoyed it a lot if not more than us, he surely enjoyed as much… thats N and him on a double cart… he sat through grinning for 4 laps all by himself and looked so damn adorable in that small helmet
and then we did what should be done on a hot sunday afternoon… swimming followed by beer and which was followed by Karthik Calling Karthik… I enjoyed the movie but it left me a disturbed, a little resltess but I think they have handled the subject well and Farhan as usual is rocking in the movie.
I wish I had more of such Sunday’s…. it was total bliss…

On your blog, provide a link to the Great Bong’s page, May I Hebb Your Attention Pliss. Embedding the above picture in your blog would be nice but not needed.
2. Then write down your top 10 Hindi movie lines or top 10 English movie lines (You can do both if you want. Only one set is required for the contest). If you cannot think of top 10, make it top 5. Cannot think of even 5? Make it top 3. No problem. Only restriction: no two lines from same movie. This done to make it fair for other movies so that they dont get swamped by Gunda or Loha or Sholay.
3. Tag five friends to do the same.
4. Come over to the comment-space of this post and post your blog’s link so I can go and read it.

And here now comes the time to tag, so I tag
Colormesunshine – so come give me sunshine give some rain…give us a blog post we are waiting right again 😉
I do look forward to weekends as most of the people do and most of the weekends I end up having a blast… but there are few weekends in which u feel like saying What a weekend… this one was such after a long time 😀
The weekend started for us on Friday as N was on leave just like that… u know I love those days where u put leave just like that and laze at home… and we did exactly that on friday… some grocery shopping plus lazing at home… In the night we watched Videsh on DVD
And I loved it… powerhouse performance by Priety Zinta… I think one of her bests… The movie is about a girl from Punjab who moves to Canada after getting married to a guy whom she has never met and who she gets nothing out of the marraige and deals with it… It starts brilliantly well… u feel totally gripped to it,towards the second half Deepa Mehta brings in a parallel with a sheshnag and how preity imagine her husband to be what he likes as a snake… a little absrtact but very well executed…
Saturday started with a bang… me and N decided to have some couple time and leaving Ojas behind went off for a drive to Dharampuri (about 150kms from blore)…. just like that for a drive and came back home at about lunchtime having cruised at the speeds of about 140kmph…. had a blast… more on the drive coming up on the travel blog soooooooooon…
The afternoon was spend in getting the 2nd shot for ojas’s rabies vaccination…. and a yummy dal makhani made for the pot luck dinner at a friends farmhouse beyond sarjapur… another 20kms from our house… and the evening was a blast…4 couples, a single friend, 5 kids and what a blast was had… its actually uncanny that I read this post by chandni today when this is exactly what we did on Saturday night… As usual she expressed it so well too :)… its a blessing to have couple friends where we can just be ourself as a couple… no hangups… no pretensions and total fun….
I thought after this fablous Saturday nothing we do on Sunday will be able to match upto it…but man I was wrong… One of our very close friends bought a brand new Grand Punto and it was time for a party and a test drive…Its an amazingly good looking car… infact we called it baby ferrari… it failed to impress me in power though…. here is A chachu and ojas with the baby ferrari
We took the car and went to More than paranaths as the boys wanted to have beer and biryani and I stuck to my fresh lime but what time was had… we laughed a created a riot and they had to virtually throw us at 4:30 saying we have to close the place 😀 and then we around the Fab India’s of the town looking for some furniture that A wanted to buy
And in the night we went to watch Love AajKal….
We were pretty pissed by the time we were seated in the theatre because it took us 30 mins to enter the parking of Fame Lido how can u run a multiplex and say we dont have enough parking??? and then their pickup kiosks were not working 😦
Nonethless coming to the movie it was an average movie for me, I had great expectations from the movie specially looking at the 4/5 rating from TOI, personally I think the concept of the movie was great… running two love stiores of different era in paralle and comparing the nuances, it caught our generation bang on… the pratcial approach to realtions… for me what killed the movie was Deepika’s horrible performance… her so clear south indian accent in hindi… But its a decent one time watch….
So bolo want it WAW!!!
PS: the only sad part in the weekend it put on 500gms of weight :(will have to workd hard this week…and the cough gosh I am fed up of it… I think it has makde friends me forever 😦
Last week actually 10 days back just before leaving for Munnar I thought of getting myself a regular trim at my Spratt my regular place for a cut from past 6 years… I went through the regular routine of washing and conditioning of hair… what bliss… the way the massage the hair while washing one just wishes it continues forever 🙂
However that was interrupted and a warm clean towel wrapped around my head and me taken to the station to get the works done… Brijesh (my fav hairdresser in Spratt, its different thing that he is almost bald himself :D) walked up, inspected my hair as if its dress material he is planning to buy or may be do some work on… during all this I was thinking “gosh I am so bored of my hairstyle, I think I should do something different this time” and just then
B: Madam, its been the same from sometime isnt it… lets do something different
Me: (stunned) ya ya ya why not (how the hell did he know what I am thinking, ok may be short this time)
B: let go short this time mam
Me : (not able to speak at all) aah aaah ya we can
At this point of time he started working on my hair again snip snap…. concentrating as its a work of art… and my mind could only think of what happened… I know its a freak conciendence but have you guys seen Everybdy Says I’m fine, I am taking about the movie directed by Rahul Bose (BTW I find him extermely hot, he has a intellect that is unmatched in the industry… but thats a different post) and Rehaan Engineer (I think one of the most underrated actors of our times)… for those who have not seen it; RE is a hair dresser in the movie with a power to read people’s mind while the scicors are snipping….
All I do think of then is the movie, the fact that what if he can read my mind, if does he will go crazy for sure… because most of the times there are crazy things running in my mind lol… but on a serious just think of it… if it really comes true? Most of the people including myself have so many thoughts running at that time… its a time which most of us have to ourself… mostly my mind is running wild thinking about work, home, cooking, Ojas, fights with N…. good times too… its a bouqet of thoughts most private to me… sometimes not shared with anyone…. and I would dread if anyone hears them…. they could be the most crazy ones, most sane ones, happy ones, sad ones but they are mine not for the world to share
What about u guys, whats running on your mind when u go get a hair cut, and what if those thoughts could be read by the person working on ur hair?
Yeh Dilli Hai Mere Yaar, Bas Ishq Mohabbat Pyaar Basti Hai Mastano Ki Dilli Dilli, Gali Hai Deewano Ki Dilli 6… Bolo Bolo Milo Se Dilli Dilli, Bolo Bolo Milo Se Dilli 6 Basti Hai Mastano Ki Dilli Dilli, Gali Hai Deewano Ki Dilli 6
Oh I am feeling so nostalgic… feels like going back to home right away…
I saw Delhi 6 yesterday night and fell in love with it, the movie hardly has a story if u ask me but still says so much… the delhi attitude, the small nuisances… the way old delhi is shown…
Oh I loved it all…
Ok I agree its not as good as RDB but the movies like RDB happen once in a lifetime and I think a comparison would be totally unfair…
If u have anything to do with Delhi, u’ll realise how good the movie is… Delhi is the hero of the movie and ya the kala bandar too 🙂
I also loved the way the movie weaved in Ramayana and ramlila in between, the relevant chapters running thru the movie… it made it so relevant to the current times…
Loved the way the social issues like communalism etc are just weaved in… the way hindus and muslims co-exist lovingly and then one word from someone the riots start and then suddenly they become friends again… this exactly is delhi my friend…
And hey did I mention that there was one more reason to be nostalgic… Me and N went for this movie on our bike after ages… Oh man… I love it…. resting the head on his shoulder, hugging him from behind, hair flying away, cold wind blowing into my face… I so miss our long, aimless, destination less bike rides… I want them back
So I finally got around watching Slumdog Millionaire…
Frankly its a lovely movie, portrays Mumbai,India and slums pretty well… quite realistic… and u cant take ur eyes off from the screen most of the times…
But does that make it a Oscar worthy movie? I don’t think so… There are a lot of other movies which are better than this…
For once I think the whole hype of the movie is indeed about selling India’s poverty and I am not saying its wrong… whats there got to be shown on the screen… Its about satisfying the white man’s ego that India is indeed a third world country…
Consider the following scene for example: After they come after seeing the agra dhobi ghat and the merc is all dismantled… the driver begins beating the guy and the boy tells them U want to see real India, see this…
And bingo comes the answer “And now we will show u the real America son” with a 100 dollar bill
Can anything anything at all beat the arrogance which was portrayed in the above scene???
My point of view, its a great watch but certainly feels like too much hyped for an Oscar or Golden Globe…
I watched The President is coming in the weekend and what a blast the movie is… its a laughter riot…
The concept of the movie was so original and innovative, its a comical satire set in 2006 when Bush visited India and the movie says that Bush wants to meet “A Young Indian” and hence a PR agency is hired to search the Young Indian…
A brilliant cast and fantastic characterization places the movie in my list of best movies ever seen… It portrays each character in the movie so well…
the babe from Delhi who is running a cosmetic business and is a total daddy’s girl (played by Ira Dubey) and talks in “I am like archana like I run a 4-crore cosmetic business which I like started from 3 crores”…
an accent trainer from Gurgaon who runs a company EASY (pronounce EAaaaa ZZZZZZZ)…
a stock broker who is incidentally named Kapil Dev, thinks everyone can be bribed and knows all the stock symbols by heart…
a social worker who is the biggest hyprocite, a shiv sena supported, is against women wearing jeans, divorce and muslims and yes he has a IIM grad…
a gay software engg but ofcourse from namma bengaluru who is trying desperately to prove to the world he is normal by trying to get married and read up on how to seduce women…
and a novelist from Bengal played brilliantly by Konkana who can do just anything tp meet the president (I want to tell something but that will be like a spoiler)…
and then there are the two people from the PR agency one totally efficient girl who is bossed around by a kleptomaniac boss
The movie is a must watch for everyone… go grab it ASAP 🙂 Its a movie which could represent a new beginning for bollywood
